These Are The New Pick-Up Points For Grab And Other E-Hailing Rides At KLIA And Klia2

The change in designated pick-up points came into effect on Saturday, 12 October.

E-hailing services including Grab have been assigned new pick-up points at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and klia2

The new designated pick-up points came into effect yesterday, 12 October.

According to a statement by Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) on Friday, KL International Airport terminals now has two new designated pick-up points.

Passengers can find them at Door 3 and 4, Level 1 of Main Terminal Building at KLIA and at Door 5, Level 1 of Transportation Hub at klia2.

The previous pick-up points that were at Level 3 of KLIA's arrival hall and Level 2 of klia2's arrival hall are no longer functional

MAHB said that the new initiative aims to improve the traffic and ensure a more systematic public transportation flow at the KL International Airport terminals.

In the statement on Friday, Malaysia Airports said that the two new pick-up points have been upgraded with comfortable waiting amenities for passengers.

"We are providing facilities to both e-hailing drivers and their passengers such as an incoming control system, comfortable seating for the waiting areas and signage for easy navigation at the new designated pick-up points," Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Malaysia Airports, said.

According to Raja Azmi, the initiative aims is to make both passengers and the e-hailing community at KL International Airpot have a pleasant experience.

Meanwhile, MAHB said that RM10 penalty will be imposed on drivers if they remain in the pick-up lane for more than five minutes

"An additional penalty of RM10 will be imposed if the driver continues to wait for another 5 minutes," MAHB said, adding that a complimentary waiting area has been allocated for e-hailing drivers at its Landside Operations office.

The complimentary waiting area is five minutes away from the terminal.

"By waiting at this designated parking area prior to the arrival of their passengers, the drivers will be able to abide by the 5-minute period allocated to pick-up passengers at the designated points. Access to the pick-up lanes requires Touch 'n Go cards with a minimum value of RM20 or pay-wave cards (Visa, Mastercard and Debit Card)," it said.
